Monday Morning Photo Shoot
The Boss was feeling a little hammy this morning...

Lila was not impressed.

Until Bossman asked her to join him...

But even still, she needed a little coaxing.

Way more fun than staring at a blank word document.

Amazon
It's here!

My husband emailed me at work this afternoon to let me know that my little collection is finally available at Amazon. He's so adorable and proud.

Meanwhile, my son keeps me grounded. Today, he informed me: You are stinky, proceeded to make a looping motion in my direction with his little fingers and added, your whole body.

Nice.

(Oh..and if anyone really does want a signed copy, by all means, send me an email - melanie@lopnet.com.)

Editing Anyone?
In another attempt to earn some extra income at home, I've decided to go ahead and pimp myself out, offering my phenomenal Editorial & Mentoring Services to the world at large.

Because, of course, in "this economic climate" (I swear if I hear that phrase one more time, I might actually slap the person saying it to me) who wouldn't want to shell out their hard earned income to improve their home grown writing projects?

In family related news, it turns out that Lila is going to be in for a big disappointment when she realizes that this baby we keep talking about is actually going to arrive. She sat on my lap the other night and this conversation ensued:

Me: Lila, where's your baby brother?

Her: Uh, right there.

Me: No, that's your big brother. Where's the baby?

Her (quite huffy actually): The baby is all gone. So don't talk about it any more.

Yeah.

This is going to go real well.

My children aren't home.

This is the second week that I'll have two nights home without them, so that my mother-in-law can babysit and I can work for four hours a day for a paycheck that is still not enough to keep us afloat.

It feels a little like failure, not having my children with me, and not making enough for it to be worth it.

Yet, with the way my heart hurts tonight, with the way that I'm missing the smell of their little heads and the feeling of their arms around my neck, I wonder if any amount of money is worth it.
