For married men (or men who hope to be married someday...) Come to think of it, this applies to married women too. Or really anyone in a significant relationship - no, wait, in any relationship.
Something tells me there's a story behind this post, Mella honey!!
I HEAR YA.
In the same vein, Maya Angelou said this great thing:
If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love. Don't be surly at home, then go out in the street and start grinning 'Good morning' at total strangers.
Hi there, I have been reading your blog for a few months and I must say I truly enjoy myself whenever I vist. This post is short BUT so meaningful and it served as a wake-up call for me. Thanks. :) Cheers spyder
DarkMind That is one of the strangest, most interesting stories of gratitude that I've ever heard - sounds like a blog post to me!
Teri Oh, there's a story. There's always a story - it's just a matter of deciding which stories are worth putting out there, and which ones are best left neatly summed up. Great quote, thanks!
Come to think of it, treating those we love the most, the worst, is actually pretty basic human nature. My son is perfect when out in public or around strangers, and yet can be a fit-throwing terror when it's just he and I. I keep reading that it's just that he "trusts" me and knows that he can be himself.
He also still poops in his pants.
Both of these are things I hope to help him outgrow.

No question. The best manners, the most considerate politeness, to those closest to us.
Thanks.

Spyder Thank you!
And especially for the things that are so every day you stop noticing.
Start noticing and say thank you.
Absolutely.
I have so often wondered why it's easier -for some people - to be nicer to strangers or casual friends that it is to family members!! But it's true!
